Magdalena Filipczak

Magdalena Filipczak is considered by many to be one of the most outstanding Polish violinists of her generation.

She graduated from music schools in Melbork and Gdansk Poland, and then moved to London where she completed her violin studies at the Guildhall School of Music. She currently holds a prestigious Artist Fellowship at the School and as part of the Fellowship teaches violin at the City University of London.

Magdalena has won numerous violin competitions around the world, including the 2011 Haverhill Soloist Competition, and has held various scholarships and artistic residencies. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed at many world-class venues, including the Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall and St Martin-in-the-Fields. Magdalena is a member of the Artimus Ensemble and – supported by the Zetland Foundation and Stradivari Trust – currently plays a 1732 Nicolaus Gagliano violin.
